This patient is really hard at first. Final exams to be able to become a doctor. You're trying to fight like in your eyes. I have no idea what I'm doing. Good morning. If you're new here, I'm Zayha, a finally medical student in the UK. And now I'm preparing for my final exams to be able to become a doctor in five months, hopefully. I've got two exams, one multiple choice test and one practical. And I need to pass both of them if I want to be able to graduate. Honestly, I'm so overwhelmed. But one last push now. Let's get this done. So far, I've been studying for PSA, which is prescribing safety assessment to computer-based tests that all healthcare professions need to pass to be able to prescribe any medications. When the exam style is multiple choice, I just study for it by doing practice questions straight away. And I learn more about the topic as I see how information is applied in those questions. And this saves a lot of time for me. But for this exam, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm not confident with my background knowledge at all. So I've been going through lecture slides first. Then at least I have some understanding of the context before I start doing questions.
To take a break, I'll go do some grocery shopping, even though I don't really need anything. But it's just so that I feel like I have a purpose when I'm walking around town. Actually, I need some green curry paste. So either way, it's good to get some pressure. What does this go on to? Yeah, everything is just going to be finished. Last minutes?! Then I'll biologists who decided to lol And section 1? Welcome! Hello! Oh, you're. Do we have your weekend meeting, sweetie? Good, thank you. Very productive. Yeah. Any breakdowns? Erm. not yet. No. Oh, that's good. Oh, she's not yet. Yeah, nice to be honest. No, I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm going to keep studying for prescribing exam because I realise there's a lot more content than I thought there was, so please don't leave your exam prep to the last minute. If I use my time very productively, I might have just enough time to finish everything. By the way, we're using my flatmate, Russiila's room because I'm sick of studying in my room.
Hi, guys. Today I'm studying A and E. Because that's my placement that I'm on this week. I'm revising emergency presentation. Wait, let me see if you're actually studying or if you're lying to us. Oh, I am. And I got this question correct. Wow! I'm on expert on slapped cheek syndrome. Isn't that my pediatric supportive treatment, baby? I'm keeping this again. I can have that right now, guys. I can help that. Bye, guys. I know what to go to, almost. We're on our way to Constable, the countryside hospital. Our favourite hospital, yes. Thank you. Oscar E.A. quick tour of the hospital accommodation. It is very livable, I'd say. So you'd think we'd get time off to prepare for our exams, but we don't. So I'm here on cardiology department as part of my placement slash internship, and I've got a night shift scheduled for tonight. When life is super busy, my favourite waterproof method to save time is to just get rid of the biggest destruction of our lives, which are mobile phones and social media.
According to independent journalism, people on average spend three hours and 46 minutes looking at their phones only. That's a huge amount of time to waste. So what works for me is to delete all my social media apps with my phone on silent and literally just get rid of the biggest distraction of our lives. With my phone on silent and literally hide my phone away, so I don't see it. And that helps with the temptation and habit of reaching out to our phones. So we get to spend more time on what actually matters. Right, I'm going to the night shift now. Hopefully they let me leave early, because I want to start doing practice questions from tomorrow morning. No, I didn't wake up early to study. I did get home around like three o'clock soon. But now we're going back home and on the train we will study promise. So I use my iPad a lot for studying and taking notes. But this iPad costs around £1,000. So I had to make sure I get a decent screen protector for it. And I use my Apple pencil. I want it to feel like I'm literally writing on paper. I'll still keeping the images crisp and clear. And that's exactly what paper like 2.1 offers.
Thank you to paper like for sponsoring. The newest version uses this new technology developed with their Swiss manufacturing partner. So it's nano dot layer spreads more evenly across the iPad surface. And in results the display looks almost as vibrant as a glass screen. But it still has that grip when you write on it. So you still get that paper like feeling, which I love. If you're also looking for an iPad screen protector, you can grab yours at tapelight.com. So there you have it.
The other exam I'm preparing for is a practical. It's a 5 hour long continuous assessment on resuscitation skills. So we'll be tested on CPR and safety for relation use. By the way, a different related is a machine you see in movies that shocks the patient. And patient comes back from death magically. Even though reality is a little different. If you're delivering safe shocks, you get the oxygen stepping away. When it's a practical exam, the best way to learn is acting out the exact thing you'll be asked to do. So just practice, practice, practice.
And it will make you look more slick and confident to the examiner as well. So let's practice. Okay, let's lie you down. Okay. All right. Okay. So scenario one to run. Hello. Hello. Can you hear me? Hello? Help. Can I get some help please? I'm going to feel 10 seconds. No signs of life. Then this patient is in cardiac arrest. Can you call double two double two and get the crash trolley? It's all shock advised. You turn on the difficult machine. Yeah, the clear. And then you say oxygen away. Everyone clear. If no pulse, report CD off. Check the pulse. No pulse. Continue CPR.
So now we're practicing ATE assessment which is airway breathing, circulation, disability and exposure. Hi George. How are you feeling? I've got some chest bone and breathlessness. Does that help with your breathlessness George? Yes. Thank you. Get your temperature as well. I've got a new camera.
