It’s no secret that Dubai is located in the middle of a desert and gets minimal amounts of rainfall annually. As a result, Dubai has been mostly dependent on desalination plants to support its growing population’s water needs. However, desalination plants are not only inefficient and expensive but will not be able to keep up with the UAE’s growing population. Consequently, the UAE has turned to artificially creating clouds through the process of cloud seeding. This video describes how cloud seeding works and its impact on the UAE’s annual rainfall thus far along with UAE’s future plans to increase rainfall.
