SpaceX's starship rocket is a monster rocket designed to finally take humans to the Martian surface. Over the past several months, SpaceX has been conducting a variety of launch and pressure tests. But what has been even more abundant than the tests themselves is the constant scrubs. Starship is a prototype rocket, so this is completely understandable. However, scrubs are commonplace even with the most used rockets like the Falcon 9. Currently, this isn't too big of a deal as rocket launches are still a very niche market. But, if SpaceX wants to provide point to point space travel and even consistent travel to and from Mars, they need to significantly increase reliability. This brings up the question though, is airplane level reliability actually achievable with rockets? This video explains the most common reasons rocket launches are scrubbed and how space organizations can overcome these obstacles in the future.
