However, recently, Tesla stock has shown some weakness as it fell from its all-time high of $900 down to $620. It has recovered since then back into the $700s, but there is reason to stay patient and wait for a larger dip before buying into Tesla stock. Throughout 2020, one of the main reasons Tesla stock skyrocketed was because of the massive short interest on the stock. However, since then, most of the short interest has evaporated away meaning that we won't see any more short squeezes in the imminent future. Similarly, Tesla piggybacked off several single-time catalysts throughout 2020 like being added into the S&P 500.
