10 years ago Mythbusters was one of the most popular science-based shows in the world and the longest-running show on Discovery. Fans loved watching the crews put popular urban legends and myths to the test on a regular basis. Yet, despite the popularity of the show, in 2015, Mythbusters announced that they only had one season left of the show. While this was rather surprising for casual watchers, enthusiasts were already aware of some of the background issues behind the show. Shortly before the show got canceled, Mythbusters got rid of the B crew. Also, the show was starting to focus more on cinematic explosions and theatrics instead of the myths themselves. All of these factors had caused viewership to slowly decline over the years to the point where the crew would have to accept lower compensation. Given that the show had already been running for over a decade at this point, the crew decided to call it a day while things were still good instead of milking the show till the very last second.
