Xiaomi Mi Mix 3: is a slider better than a notch?

发布时间 2019-01-29 15:00:05    来源

摘要

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is one of the first phones that uses a manual slider to reveal the front camera. We’re probably going to see this design from a few different manufacturers in 2019 — rumors are that the OnePlus 7 will have a similar sliding design, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we see other phones from Oppo, Vivo, Honor, Huawei, and more with this mechanism. You have to really ask yourself, how much do you hate the notch to prefer a design like this? Correction: It appears that Xiaomi isn’t actually using springs for the Mi Mix 3's sliding screen, but is instead using a set of magnets to allow the screen to slide between the two positions and stay put until you push it back. It’s a clever system, but we’re still not convinced the system will be as durable as a non-sliding device.
