摘要
The Kenyan police have been waging an underground war against crime by killing suspected criminals.
Once again, young men have been gunned down in broad daylight in Kayole, a poor neighborhood in Kenya. One of the four men was 19-year-old Brian. Resident witnesses say he was killed by police. Kenya is seen as one of the most stable democracies in Africa. But under the harmonious surface and economic progress is a disturbing and brutal reality – a culture of extrajudicial killings and authorities acting with impunity. Again and again, young men are shot down in the streets of Nairobi’s slums. The Kenyan police are killing anyone they suspect of criminal activity in an underground war against crime. The death toll in 2017 is said to top 3000.
