Jim Thompson, MBA '86, will reflect on how the GSB shaped his sense of identity and expanded his idea of what is possible, leading to his founding of Positive Coaching Alliance, a national nonprofit that has impacted more than 4 million youth athletes. Jim has more than 20 years of teaching, coaching, and management experience working with a variety of individuals and groups ranging from emotionally- disturbed children to adults in the workplace. He was director of the Public Management Program from 1987-1998. Prior to attending the GSB, Jim worked for the Oregon Department of Energy and in Silicon Valley for Tandem Computers and Hewlett-Packard.
