In this talk, Melissa Webb explores the role of positive feedback and reinforcement on children's performance in school and in life, arguing that it impacts a very key ingredient in the formula for success, EQ, or the emotional quotient. Children who do not perform well academically, she argues, are at greater risk than those who do of being denied this critical component to their prospects for success. Mentorship is an effective way, however, of bridging this gap in our society.
