摘要
The secret to success may be to change how we think about our hard-earned achievements. In a new behavioral science paper (JPSP, 2020) by Stanford GSB professors, Szu-chi Huang and General Atlantic Professor Jennifer Aaker show that instead of focusing only on the goal that’s been attained, we should reflect on the steps it took to achieve it — and to think metaphorically about the entire effort as a journey rather than a destination reached. These results suggest a better metric of long term success is how much you feel you have grown, learned, and your ability to change your habits moving forward.
