Tesla gave us some hints as to their newest battery anode which they are calling "Tesla Silicon". This is a big deal as this improvement alone yields 20% range increases and 5% reduction in $/kWh.
Tesla's new battery anode has big implications for cost and efficiency, but we need to think practically about where this new anode will be implemented (what vehicles).
Tesla Silicon is a massive breakthrough in the battery world...a feat accomplished by "a car company".
We'll also explain silicon vs. silicone vs. silica clearly...may we all stop propogating these misnomers!
