Tesla's $3 acquisition...what was it for and how will it impact the company? This is actually a pretty interesting story, and seems to be yet another example of Tesla being a few steps ahead in acquiring talent and IP.
Tesla reportedly bought patents from Springpower International for yes, $3. The price is low because they bought the applications, not a granted patent. Springpower seemingly sold multiple patents to Tesla, and Springpower workers are now listed as Tesla employees.
