If Tesla will be using a new battery line, how will they use the legacy 18650 and 2170 cell lines while they are developing their own line? I attempt to answer that question in this video. There are many levers that Tesla can pull to increase their production of the 2170 battery cell. This includes switching the lines in Japan from 18650 to 2170, increasing the energy density of the cells (wh/kg), and adding more lines to Giga Nevada.
