摘要
Despite warnings, petitions, protests and media coverage, including a video I made in February 2018, the site in England known as Blick Mead, the possible cradle of Stonehenge and ancient Brtish civilisation, has been drilled by Government contractors as they begin planning a new tunnel and flyover to ease traffic at Britain’s best known ancient site.
The man who led the challenge against the government was Professor David Jacques, an archaeologist and researcher at the University of Buckingham. He argued that being so close to Blick Mead, which is one of the country’s oldest sites, the planned works would most certainly cause irreversible damage to this World Heritage Site.
Now, his fears have become a reality as the ancient site has been drilled by workers to reportedly check the water levels at the site. Watch the video to learn more.
