There was once an ancient temple between the paws of The Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt. It was excavated in the 19th century and it contained a number of finds that have been lost and very little is known about them today. These include smaller lion statues, two more stela's that were adjacent to the Dream Stela, a torch, the beard of the Sphinx, a torch, lanteen or altar, and much more. There was also a grand staircase as well as Roman and Greek inscriptions.
The Sphinx and all of the lost artefacts were painted red and thanks to Howard Vyse, they were all recorded in his book called 'Operations Carried on at the Pyramids of Giza in 1837'.
In this video I explain why Pharaoh Thutmose IV and Ramesses the Great took extra special interest in the Great Sphinx and why I believe that the ancient solar cult of the Sphinx existed at the site and continued, possibly in secret throughout dynastic history.
All images are taken from Operations Carried on at the Pyramids of Giza in 1837, Volume III, and Google Images for educational purposes only. The book by Howard Vyse was also my main source of information.
