The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities have announced the discovery of an ancient port that was used to transport stones for the construction of temples and obelisks. Whilst excavating the ancient ruins of Kom Ombo, near Aswan, archaeologists discovered the port, built on the River Nile’s West Bank, and found that it extended over 100 metres or 328 feet and lies around 200 metres from a large quarry, known as Gebel el-Silsila, according to Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, Mustafa Waziri. Also, King Tutankhamen’s priceless artefacts, that tour the world in special exhibitions, have been insured by The Misr Insurance company for a massive 900 million dollars. Finally, the General Administration of Tourism and Antiquities Police released a statement announcing an illegal excavation in Nazlet al-Samman village, close to the Great Pyramid that led to the discovery of an ancient burial site.
