New Evidence For The Great Sphinx Lion Claims? | Ancient Architects

摘要

My last video certainly generated a lot of discussion and in this follow-up, I start by explaining something that I don’t think I was entirely clear about regarding my new theory that The Sphinx wasn't a lion or jackal originally, but was actually a depiction of the Primordial Mound of Ancient Egypt, associated with the god, Sokar. Since my last video I was contacted by a number of people, via Facebook, Email and in the comments and I was told that Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner had found proof that the paws were carved into the bedrock limestone and because of this, the mound of weathered bedrock was originally a lion-like Sphinx. I look at this evidence with a critical eye and give my own opinion on what I think it implies. I also look at the different views on the Sphinx erosions and weathering, from Robert Schoch, Colin Reader, Jørn Christiansen and Robert Temple and how each independent expert has a different interpretation for the weathering we see. You can read their views at the following links: Robert Schoch: https://www.robertschoch.com/sphinx.html Colin Reader: https://www.academia.edu/7046492/Khufu_Knew_the_Sphinx Jørn Christiansen: https://www.geoexpro.com/articles/2015/01/the-great-sphinx-of-egypt-nature-s-shabby-chic-trick All images are taken from Google Images, archive.org and https://opencontext.org/subjects/09e438f5-137e-41e2-8839-4802acc86f39 for educational purposes only.
