After finishing my last video on the tunnel in the back of The Great Sphinx, I did manage to come across more information about it, written by Mark Lehner in his 1991 in-depth dissertation about the Sphinx. This video is in two parts. Part one looks at the new information regarding the shaft, while in part 2, I will be presenting some rare, old photographs and information about another Sphinx cavity, chamber or tunnel – the famous doorway on its northern side.
New information comes from a 1991 dissertation written by famous Egyptologist Mark Lehner, who does discuss the shaft in the back of The Sphinx in some level of detail and this follows on from my last video on the subject.
The four photographs I am presenting in Part 2 are from 1925 and show the opening of doorway in the northern side of the Sphinx. To my knowledge, these rare photographs have not been shown before in a video on The Sphinx. The doorway is today bricked up and as well as being discussed in Robert and Olivia Temple's famous book, The Sphinx Mystery, Egyptologists such as Zahi Hawass and Mark Lehner don't deny it's existence.
