摘要

A team of underwater archaeologists diving in Northern Sudan, once known as the land of Nubia, have discovered gold leaf and fragments of statues and an undisturbed sarcophagus in an ancient submerged tomb belonging to a pharaoh named Nastasen, who ruled the Kush kingdom from 335 BC to 315 BC. Now that we have the technology to explore underwater archaeology, in 2018 archaeologists under the leadership of archaeologist Pearce Paul Creasman, associate professor at the University of Arizona, have entered the abyss. The team have discovered fragments of ancient flakes of gold on a stone-cut offering table in the burial chamber. The stone sarcophagus is also still there, unopened, as well as small shabti figurines in the Ancient Egyptian style. Further exploration will continue in 2020 and the sarcophagus of the king may also be opened. All images are taken from Google Images for educational purposes only.
