Up to 8,000-Years-Old: Stone Rows, Grave, Cairn & Statue Discovered in France | Ancient Architects

More than 30 prehistoric stone monoliths and one human skeleton, which could date back to around 6,000 BC, have been found in central France, a discovery that is the first of its kind in this region.
The stones are oriented north to south and are spread out across an area measuring around 150 metres and are reminiscent of the famous stones of Carnac in their arrangement.
They were discovered in Auvergne during routine preventative excavations ahead of the widening of the A75 motorway. French archaeological research body, The National Institute of Preventative Archaeological Research or INRAP, confirmed the findings.
One of the stones stands out from the rest, as it carved, is grossly anthropomorphic and was found to have a rounded head, placed on rough shoulders as well as two small breasts. It is the only stone of its kind found in Auvergne, and is therefore extremely rare and important in our understanding of Ancient France.
But along with stones there was also another unusual discovery, the burial of a very tall man, and he was covered with a quadrangular cairn, 14 metres or 45 foot long and 6.5 metres or 21 feet wide. How tall the man was is unknown at this stage, but by the description seems to imply he is above average for the Neolithic and Bronze Age.
