Dating the Great Pyramid Wooden Relic: Time to Adjust the Old Kingdom Timeline? | Ancient Architects

摘要

As I reported on Ancient Architects just a couple of days ago, the lost Dixon Relic from the Great Pyramid of Egypt was re-discovered at the University of Aberdeen and it was also radiocarbon dated to between 3,341 to 3,094 BC, some 5-800 years before the reign of he supposed builder of the Great Pyramid, King Khufu. It was found inside the Queen’s Chamber northern shaft and this shaft never opened into the Queen’s Chamber, with the end being covered by a load-bearing wall block, and it also never reached the edge of he pyramid, stopping at this limestone door some 15-20 metres from the edge of the pyramid. Beyond this door is likely just the core masonry blocks of the pyramid. Therefore, we have an isolated shaft inside the pyramid that nobody accessed from when the shaft was made to the discovery and opening of it in 1872, where Waynman Dixon had to chisel through the wall block to find it. So this relic seems to date back to the pyramid's construction, but how can we explain its more ancient date? Could it be that Khufu didn't build the Great Pyramid, or does it imply the timeline of Old Kingdom Ancient History is actually a few hundred years out? Watch the video to learn more. Special thanks for Thanos5150 aka Lee Anderson for adding so much to the discussion of the age of the Old Kingdom, whose work I feature in this video.
