摘要

Archaeologists working in the Kom Al-Khalejan region of the Nile River Delta have discovered a vast Egyptian cemetery spanning thousands of years of Ancient Egyptian history. Situated in the province of Dakahlia, around 93 miles from the capital, a considerable number of the tombs date to Egypt’s elusive Predynastic Period, between 6,000 and 3,150 BC. There are 68 pre-dynastic oval-shaped tombs, as well as 37 semi-rectangular-shaped tombs from Egypt’s Second Intermediate Period, which is also known as the Hysos period, dating between 1782 and 1570 BC, just before the famous golden era we all know as the 18th dynasty. The five remaining tombs out of the 110 discovered date to the Naqada III period, a time when Egypt was transitioning into the Dynastic era, between 3,200 and 3,000 BC. Watch this video to learn more about the new discovery and I've also included some new pictures I've just found on the enormous 2-3,000-ton unfinished colossi statues, which I discussed in my last video. All images are taken from Google Images and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities Facebook page.
