摘要
Dr. Richard Lee of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School speaks on the promise of entrepreneurship in the health and life sciences field. Students from across the University attended to share ideas and find potential team mates.
The Deans' Health and Life Sciences Challenge seeks to encourage students from across the university to find entrepreneurial solutions to the task of delivering affordable health to the global population. To make progress, we will need to work across boundaries, bringing together people, ideas, disciplines and perspectives from across the globe. We can think of no better place than Harvard to assemble teams that will rise to this challenge!
The four focus areas are redesign of health delivery; changing behavior; computation and data analysis in therapy discovery, personalized medicine and public health; and stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. Up to eight finalist teams will receive $5,000, expert mentorship and working space at the i-lab to help nurture and grow their ideas. A grand prize of $75,000 in prize money and summer residency at the i-lab will be distributed among a winning team and runners-up.
The i-lab will play an active role as host to the teams as they develop and refine their ideas, assisting students by hosting workshops, providing guidance, and giving them access to our resources and facility throughout the Challenge.
