President's Challenge 2014 Kickoff
Come join us to help kick off the 2014 President's Challenge! Professor Harry Lewis of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences will be explaining the promise of social entrepreneurship. Join students from across the University to gain inspiration and learn how you can help address issues that are of global and social importance.
The President's Challenge is an initiative to help Harvard students develop entrepreneurial solutions to the world's most important social problems. Sponsored by President Drew Faust, the challenge gives students access to expertise in the form of mentors and experience in bringing great ideas to action.
Teams have been asked to present novel solutions that help address the issues related to the following topic areas:
• education innovation
• affordable health
• energy and the environment
• economic development & sustainable employment
• efficient governing
This event will be the first in a series hosted by the i-lab. At the kickoff event you will be able to ideate and meet other Harvard students interested in making an impact in the world. Additional workshops will allow you to learn how to strengthen your proposal and develop your idea--more info on the programming will be shared by Gordon Jones, Managing Director of the i-lab.
The i-lab will play an active role as a host to the teams as they develop and refine their ideas, assisting students by hosting workshops, providing guidance, and giving them access to our resources and facility throughout the Challenge.
