At the i-lab, we help students take ideas as far as they can go. Last summer, Harvard and IDEO teamed up with Fidelity Investments to pilot a new kind of internship exclusively at the i-lab.
In June of 2014, students interested in entrepreneurship teamed up with other like-minded students to try their hand at human centered design and experience life in the early days of a new venture. At summer’s close, Fidelity funded 2 ventures. One student, Mariel Manzone, profiled above followed her project to corporate sponsor, Fidelity.
This year, Harvard students will join IDEO’s Future Lab as interns at the Harvard i-lab for 9 weeks (June 1, 2015 to July 31, 2015). Future Lab, an IDEO program, explores the intersection of emerging technologies and human needs to identify new market spaces and prototype venture solutions. Participants will be placed on teams, learn necessary venture design skills from IDEO venture designers, and be given access to emerging technology experts. Student created ventures may become part of IDEO’s Start-Up In Residence program or be funded by corporate sponsors.
