Today's show features: - Aldo de Cima, General Manager at Pedder Auto Group - Jesse Colburn, Fixed Ops Director at BMW of Tuscaloosa - Michael Darlin, Fixed Ops Director & CDG Circles Member This episode is brought to you by: Haig Partners – Toyota’s market share varies widely by state, but share alone doesn’t determine dealership value. Read Haig Partners’ analysis of the local market dynamics dealers should understand here: https://haigpartners.com/resources/toyota-dealership-values-local-markets/ [11:58] First up, Aldo de Cima, General Manager at Pedder CDJR of Poway outside San Diego. His store has taken about four break-ins in five years, and on the latest one the thieves cut the power to kill the cameras and the alarm. One car came back by GPS with law enforcement. So what actually failed that night, and what is he changing before the next one? [31:42] Next, Jesse Colburn, Fixed Operations Director at BMW of Tuscaloosa. New ownership in January, store was in the red, and last month they netted over $200,000 with about 87 cars sold — up from 30 to 40 at the end of last year. He says the process was there; the people weren't. Stick around for how a small BMW store rebuilt the roster and got techs to shoot a video on every car. [56:10] Then Michael Darlin, Fixed Ops Director and Circles member. He's the fix-it shop guy: one tech per bay, centralized dispatch that cleaned up 15-to-20-ticket piles sitting next to empty bays, and a menu-pricing lane that put four 75-inch TVs behind the advisors. How do you sell that kind of change to a shop that doesn't want it?
