Trump just promised every American $5,000. His last check never arrived.
Trump told a Dallas crowd that every American adult gets $5,000 if Republicans hold Congress in November. He promised $2,000 tariff checks back in November 2025, those never arrived, and the new pledge would cost more than a trillion dollars Congress has not approved.
Scott Melker's point is that both parties do this, and the money never turns out to be there either time.
