Woodlands Checkpoint is one of Singapore's two land checkpoints connecting ground traffic with neighboring country Malaysia. Clearing several hundred thousand travellers a day, it is one of the world's busiest checkpoints. Human traffic, comprising visitors and workers, as well as cargo traffic, carrying all kinds of goods, pass through with volume expected to increase by a third by 2050. Processing that traffic and ensuring the safety and security of the border are 1,300 ICA officers, sharing shifts round the clock, seven days a week.
