Fed Chair Nominee Kevin Warsh at 2025 Reagan Economic Forum

Kevin Warsh, President Trump's January 2026 nominee to chair the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, was in conversation on federal monetary policy and the role of the Federal Reserve during the 2025 Reagan National Economic Forum in Simi Valley, California. In these portions of the conversation with the Wall Street Journal's Greg Ip, Mr. Warsh, a former member of the Federal Reserve, said the Fed should remain independent from presidential interference, but said it shouldn't insulate the Fed from presidential criticism.
