These are 5 things I wish I knew when I was younger, and why these are important to learn - enjoy! And if I’m any indication of what other people might thinking, then I have a feeling this one is INCREDIBLY common for most people. Learning when to ask for help is an INSANELY beneficial skill to have - plus it begins to help you become more assertive to get things done when you can effectively ask someone else for assistance. Second, it’s so important that you realize just how insignificant everything is. I nearly guarantee that whatever is bothering you RIGHT NOW, WILL NOT MATTER IN A YEAR FROM NOW. This took me a very, very long time to internalize…but once I did, it’s changed my entire mindset. When you take a step back and really think about it, everything that happens is SO insignificant in the entire universe. Our entire existence is a fraction of the blink of an eye…we are so small in the entire galaxy…and I don’t say this make you feel worthless or anything, but this should help you realize that whatever you’re going through likely isn’t as big of a deal as you think, and you will be ok and move on. Third, with that, it’s really important to know what to let go. Trust me when I say this…not EVERYTHING is worth arguing over, and it’s very important to learn to pick and chose your battles. Most of them are not worth it, and accomplish nothing. On the other hand, if there’s something that’s WORTH fighting for - that can actually have a POSITIVE impact - then do it, and it better be important. Understanding the differences is absolutely vital. Fourth thing I wish I knew was that it’s OK to fail and it’s ok to be wrong. The way I see it, every failure happens for a reason…and I just believe that life is supposed to present certain situations to you so you can learn from them and become a better person in the long run. If something happens, I always think to myself…this is really just a blessing in disguise, and I’m THAT much stronger of a person because of it. I guarantee if you mess up big time, you will not make that same mistake again…and you be better because of it. So embrace failing, embrace being wrong, and EXPECT it to happen - that way, you can get it out of the way quickly and keep going. And fifth, this one is a small one that I just want to emphasize to everyone…just show up on time. Don’t be late. Don’t cancel last minute. Just make commitments…and stick with them. Half the battle is LITERALLY just showing up on time…it isn’t always the smartest person, or the most talented who gets the opportunities…sometimes it’s the person who just shows up, at the right place, at the right time. And that’s all there is to it. So few people ever do that…that when you ARE that person who shows up, it’s almost like you have super powers or something. People act SURPRISED when you show up early, because it’s NOT NORMAL. And THAT’S how you get ahead. And the more times you show up on time, the more likely you are to put yourself in situations for opportunity. And if you want to show up early, here is a very subtle reminder to hit the notification bell - so you can be here as soon as the video posts, and I’m always here the first hour answering comments.
